From fish boxes to leading manufacturers of wooden packaging solutions.

Aven has a deeply rooted history dating back to 1962 when Einar Ung started manufacturing fish boxes in Rabbalshede. What began as a modest operation gradually expanded, soon including pallets, crates, and other wooden packaging solutions.

In 1995, the company Aven (Holmestrand, Norway) acquired Rabbalshede Pall, marking the beginning of a new phase in the company's history. Originally founded in 1928 by Heine Aven, Aven was initially a sawmill operation in Holmestrand. The following years were characterized by development and change.

Forsaträ AB acquired Aven AS in Holmestrand, along with its subsidiary Aven Pallen in Rabbalshede, in 2006. This was marketed as a strategic move to further strengthen and diversify the business. Two years later, the companies were renamed Aven with the addition of location names to enhance the brand. Along with the name change, the corporate structure was altered so that the operating companies are owned by Aven Holding AB.

Dansk Træemballage A/S (DTE) acquires Aven Holmestrand AS and Aven Rabbalshede AB.

During this time, across the Øresund, Dansk Træemballage AS (DTE) emerged. In 1989, DTE was formed through the merger of Haastrup Træemballage and Ribe Emballage. DTE's history dates back to 1915 when the sawmill in Haastrup was founded, and the operations in Ribe have roots dating back to 1581. In 2015, Aven reached a significant milestone when Dansk Træemballage A/S (DTE) acquired Aven Holmestrand AS and Aven Rabbalshede AB. This acquisition not only strengthened Aven as a significant player but also integrated them into DTE, positioning them as an even stronger force in wooden packaging.

Aven and DTE have jointly shaped a history characterized by long-term vision, quality, and a pursuit of innovation. Our journey is a fusion of tradition and modernity, and we continue to create the packaging solutions of the future with our roots firmly grounded in our proud history.
